Simon and Karen, have happily called Haselbury Plucknett home since 1998, raising our two sons here and building lasting friendships within the village. When our sons prepared to leave for university, we were inspired to create a unique holiday retreat in our small orchard. Having both originally met through agriculture – just like Esme and Fred, the couple who built our home – a shepherd’s hut felt the perfect way to unite both of our love stories. Built largely by hand from a Blackdown Shepherd Huts kit, the project took just five months of weekends and evenings, and we’re delighted to now share this special space with guests.
