Combestone Tor is a beautiful, luxury Blackdown Shepherds hut named after one of our local Tors, which is within walking distance.  It is sited in a little paddock close to the farm, adjacent to the open moorland with fantastic views of Dartmoor & beyond.

The hut is fully self-contained with a wonderfully comfortable pull-down double bed, table and seating area, small kitchen including induction hob, fridge, utensils, crockery, glasses & slow cooker.  It also has an en-suite shower room and a wood burner for those cosy evenings.  Outside you will find a gas bbq, firepit, seating and plenty of star gazing opportunities.

Lisa, Richard & their 2 daughters would love to welcome you to their working Dartmoor hill farm in the parish of Holne, on the southern edge of Dartmoor.  We’re a relatively small farm, with around 40 South Devon cows and 250 Swaledale ewes, all of which will graze the open moorland at some point during the year.  You’re very welcome to come and meet the animals, the cows are tucked up in the cosy barn during the winter months and always like to see visitors. We lamb from Mid-April to Mid-May, with lots of ewes and lambs dotted around the farm before they return to the open moorland at the beginning of June.  Our farm is also in a wildlife friendly stewardship, so there is plenty of wildlife to see and hay meadows to walk through in summer.
